When to go ?

Costa Rica enjoys a warm tropical climate and several microclimates. It is generally warmer and drier on the Pacific coast, and cooler and wetter in the mountains. The months of May to November have more rainfall and the peak period is from November to April. The most popular annual events are the Palmares Fiestas (January) with bullfights, concerts and an equestrian parade, Holy Week at Easter (March / April), the Limón Carnival (October), an Afro-Caribbean event with fires fireworks and parades, and the Fiestas de Zapote (late December-January) with rodeos and carnival floats.
